Our History

Our History

Kapatad Kitchen and Cafe was a lifelong dream of the Franco family, a simple and humble Filipino family that migrated to Austin, Texas over a decade ago. The Franco family was originally from Santa Rita, Pampanga, a province in the Northern part of the Philippines which is known for its delicious food and great hospitality. The seven Franco siblings learned their cooking skills from their mother, Francisca, and their father, Zoilo. These recipes were handed down from many generations and made into delicious dishes that are popular all over the Philippines.

Some things happy customers have said

Wow, amazing, clean, delicious Filipino food. We will be back again and again and again. AND the halo halo is the BEST. Everything is made in restaurant…they make their own ube ice cream. I honestly can just eat a gallon of that by itself. If you haven’t tried this place, go now. Sinigang, calamari, and halo halo were our faves. And if you have friends who aren’t adventurous eaters…they also have comforting familiar Chinese dishes on the menu!
